From Idioms to Education

July 20, 2017

โ€œBite off more than you can chewโ€

Guilty as charged!!ย  This idiom speaks to those that take on more than they can finish.ย  In reflection, this concept haunted me.ย  I would always take on more projects and many times could not see them to completion because there was too much on my plate.ย  A leader must show patience in what he /she believes. ย It is easy when one does not experience immediate success, to move quickly to a new initiative.ย  In education, this is especially troubling because there always is a constant need and pressure to improve student test scores. ย This type of improvement requires a long-term fix.ย  Ultimately, believe in what you are doing, stay focused, eliminate outside noises and be patient.ย  Success will follow.
